Let me tell you a little secret: you don’t have to be a graphic designer, tech genius, or e-commerce wizard to make money online. You really don’t.
I’m a busy mom of five boys, running a home, homeschooling, building digital products, and trying to stay sane in the process. But I still found a way to add another income stream to our home—without inventory, shipping supplies, or a garage full of boxes.
It’s called Printful, and it’s become one of my favorite “quiet hustle” tools.
Quick disclosure: some of the links below are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you choose to purchase through them — never at an extra cost to you. I only recommend what I genuinely use and believe aligns with purpose, peace, and provision.
Why I Chose Printful
When I first started dreaming up product ideas—funny boy mom mugs, cozy affirmation sweaters, relatable shirts—I knew I didn’t have time (or desire) to stock items or print things myself. I needed simple. I needed done-for-me. I needed something that worked in the cracks of my day.
That’s what Printful offers.
It’s a print-on-demand service, which means:
- You upload a design
- You connect it to an online store (I chose Etsy—more on that in a second)
- And when someone places an order, Printful prints, packages, and ships it for you.
No upfront bulk orders. No running to the post office. No mess. Just passive(ish) income that keeps coming while I homeschool and sip my coffee.
How I Create My Products
I stick to the K.I.S.S. method: Keep It Simple, Silly—because the internet already has enough complicated.
I create super simple designs in Canva (yes, even the free version works great). Think:
- Bold text
- Relatable one-liners
- Encouraging affirmations
- Quotes that stop the scroll and start a smile
Then I download the transparent PNG file, upload it to Printful, and place it on a product I love—like a mug, t-shirt, hoodie, or even a throw blanket.
Connecting Printful to Etsy
Setting up an Etsy shop was easier than I expected. Once I had a few designs ready, I connected my Printful account to Etsy, and boom—my products were live.
Now when someone places an order on Etsy, Printful automatically handles the rest. I literally don’t touch a thing.
That’s the beauty of passive products. I get to create once, and it keeps working while I work on other things.
Why Printful Works for Busy Moms Like Me
- No upfront inventory costs
- No shipping or packaging required
- Syncs easily with Etsy
- Gives you creative freedom without the overwhelm
And best of all? You get to create things you actually love. Things that reflect your humor, your story, your heart.
