Let’s be real: I love being a boy mom.
But dang, if it doesn’t come with a side of chaos, legos underfoot, questionable smells, and me saying “GET DOWN!” more times than I can count.
And somewhere in between wiping faces, reheating my coffee for the fourth time, and stepping over Nerf darts, I realized something:
There are tons of “boy mom” shirts out there…
but hardly any of them actually sound like me.
So, I made my own.
Because motherhood is hilarious.
It’s exhausting.
It’s sacred and spicy all at once.
And I wanted to create something that captures that exact flavor—a little holy water, a little unfiltered honesty, and a whole lot of caffeine.
Why I Started My Etsy Shop
I needed something that felt like mine.
Something that let me use my creativity, my sense of humor, and my design skills—even in the cracks of a full, noisy life.
So, I opened up my own Etsy shop.
At first, I just wanted a funny mug to make me laugh during my 17th coffee reheat of the day. Then came the hoodie with one of my favorite phrases:
“Just a boy mom trying not to trip over Legos and trauma.”
Relatable?
Apparently so—because the views started rolling in and the messages started showing up:
“WHERE has this been all my life?”
“This is the only shirt I want to wear to school pickup.”
“I’ve never felt so seen.”
And that’s when it hit me.
I’m not the only one craving something real.

- When I whispered “what the actual hell” into the sink while cleaning up a bowl of spilled cereal—again.
- When I realized I’d yelled “GET DOWN” over 6,000 times and still had 4 hours until bedtime.
- When I wanted to make a sweatshirt that warned strangers that yes, I’ve been up since 5 AM and I do require snacks to function.
These sayings are more than words on a shirt.
They’re survival slogans.
They’re connection points.
They’re reminders that you’re not the only one holding a mug in one hand and your sanity in the other.
